AEC – Guidelines for Reopening on May 18th

Our clinic remains committed to your safety and well-being. We are now scheduling appointments for eye exams and other eye care needs. We will also offer telehealth options for those who qualify.

You can feel confident that our clinic has taken every precaution to ensure your safety and that of our staff. We are following the guidelines from state and local authorities to include Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We have also outlined disinfection and cleaning procedures which will be required after each patient encounter. We will adhere to social distancing protocols and monitoring patient flow throughout the office. Appointment times have been limited to allow the minimum number of people entering the office at one time. We ask that the patient be the only one entering the clinic if they are over 18 years of age for their exam. If patient is under 18 years of age, one individual may accompany them for their exam. Any patient requiring assistance may also have an individual accompany them to the appointment.

Our clinic requires patients/visitors to wear masks or cloth face covering upon entering the clinic. we have a check in station were patients will need to use the hand sanitizer, sign the Health verification form upon entry. If patients or visitors do not have a mask, one will be provided. We ask that you dispose of the mask upon leaving the clinic in the appropriate container provided. Masks do not need to be placed on children under 2, on anyone who has trouble breathing, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. If a patient chooses not to wear a mask, they will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

All equipment and tools used throughout the pre-testing process will be disinfected between every patient encounter. Patients may remove their masks when in the exam room but should put them back on when others enter the room.

Protocol for trying on glasses: Patient will need to place all frames they have tried on in a tray, so that each frame can be disinfected properly.

Protocol for Contacts: All contact orders will be directly shipped to patient’s address.

Upon picking up eyewear, we ask that only the patient come in to have their glasses dispensed. we are not requiring an appointment for dispensing at this time. We encourage you to please call the office to let staff know when you would like to pick them up. This will help us monitor the number of patients in the clinic. we will offer curbside dispensing if patient feels uneasy about coming into the clinic and if the number of patients in the clinic has been met.

We look forward to reopening and continuing to provide your eyewear and eye care and needs in a safe environment.

Thank You,

Alberhasky Eye Clinic Staff
